Project TECHTILE was launched by Masashi Nakatani (Haptics Researcher), Yasuaki Kakehi (Interactive Media Professionals) and Eisuke Tachikawa (Designer) in 2007, as an public exhibition project for recently developed haptic technology in academia. After organized three exhibitions (Year 2007, 2008 and 2010), we extend our activity to develop an open community for haptic design. Currently we have been collaborating with YCAM InterLab(*) and Haptic Media Project(**) in Keio University since 2011, and hosting symposiums and workshops on haptic media design using our developed TECHTILE toolkit. We contribute to share cutting-edge research outcomes in haptics academia in pubic and to collect caseworks of haptic design proposed all over the world.
